Marti Ringenbach, Associate Pastor
My family operated a KOA campground so I have some very interesting stories from my childhood. I completed my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at Pfeiffer University in 1988. On July 1, 1989 I married an US Army Captain, Todd, and moved to Frankfurt, Germany where I taught Kindergarten and 4 th grade with the Department of Defense Schools. I also served as an Education Program Specialist with Child Development Services in the Hanau community, training teachers and home daycare providers. We returned to the US in 1994. I served as the Director for two church based preschools prior to returning to volunteer ministry, while beginning graduate school in 2008.
I have been serving in ministry for many years including two churches in the Alexandria district as a Children’s Minister and a Director of Youth Ministries. I entered the candidacy process to become an ordained elder in the Virginia Conference. I was licensed for pastoral ministry in 2013 and appointed as the Associate Pastor of Springfield UMC. I completed my Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC on May 9, 2016. My greatest joys in ministry include leading preschool chapel, teaching bible study, leading worship, and mission trips with teens and adults.
Todd and I are celebrating our 27th anniversary this year. We have two wonderful children; Mallory, 24 (on July 21st) and Konnor, 20. Todd retired from the US Army in 2009 and currently works for the Office of the Director of National Security. He enjoys golfing, hunting, and banging his drums. He has been playing drums in contemporary worship for 4 years.
I love a good book, designing homemade greeting cards, golfing with Todd, and finding unique treasures in thrift stores. I’m lousy at learning names so I will ask for your grace as I learn yours. My office door will always be open and I have comfy chairs. Stop by to say hello anytime.
